I want to comment on enigmatic’s comment about the moral of the story. He states, “The moral of the story is to always think before you act and make decisions wisely, for one day you are bound to see the consequences of your actions. What you do to others, whether good or bad, will mostly likely reflect how others will treat you in the future.” I think it is possible that the moral of this story has a stronger meaning, one that touches on the foundation of democracy, as I stated in my earlier blog. The moral of the story, in my opinion, is that we are all equal, no matter what title we possess, be it “dentist” or “mayor.” We are all human, and a title does not give a man the right to decide the worth of people’s life. On top of that, this story plays on the tranfer of power, and how a nation’s citizens truly do play in essential role in how a country is run…and of course, how they can turn against. Then youre screwed, like Mr. Mayor here.
